Max's Travel Reports

Many trips have taken place since our expedition to Egypt in 1996. Most of them I have "on tape" and thus somewhat inaccessible to viewers on the web. I have, however, recently acquired a digital camera or two and have made a point of using them, in addition to my trusty Sony Hi8.
We went to Antarctica in 2001, to the Arctic in 2002, after spending some of the spring of 2002 in South East Asia. In September of 2002 we took a "study tour" of the Veneto district of Italy (pizza, pasta, architecture were the subjects of study).  After all that gallivanting about, we decided to rest up in Palm Desert, where have a vacation time-share which offers some pretty nice vistas. While there we visited the Indian Canyon park area which has some magnificent rock formations to study.
I practiced with my new "toys" in Yosemite in the winter of 2001-02. Lately I have become more courageous and tried my hand at creating so-called interactive panoramas from pictures taken in PeruScottsdale, White Tank MountainsPalm Desert, and Indian Canyon in Palm Springs. Needless to say, the Copper Canyon provided addtional camera fodder.
In March of 2003 we poked around on the Amazon river in Peru. Shortly thereafter we spent a few days in the Phoenix area and visited the White Tank Mountains park. We spent the July 4th week-end in Prescott, AZ. (I guess we must like it warm).
Later on, in August of 2003, we checked out the rumor that Paradise can be found on earth by visiting French Polynesia for a week or so.
We started 2004 by inspecting the treasures of the Sea of Cortez and the Copper Canyon; which we followed up by spending a week in Cancun after which we checked out Budapest, Prague and points in between. Later, in November, we visited Patagonia and Easter Island.
In 2005, I admit, we got lazy. We traveled to Greenland in early September.
During this time we poked around on Bunker Hill and the Walt Disney Concert Hall with the Association of Retired Faculty.
In late May, 2006, we joined a group of California Bears for a "Beartrek" to Portugal and in late July we spent a week in Santa Fe, NM.
We resumed our trekking in 2007 by visiting Philadelphia in May.
